A Twitter Chat for the Market Research Industry

20 Dec 2018

Last year I started to take part in many Twitter chats including #TwitterSmarter and #SproutChat. There were so many that I was tweeting to about 5-6 different communities during the day. Talking to people all over the world about specific subjects.

So what is a Twitter Chat?

A Twitter Chat is what it says on the tin. It is where a group of Twitter users meet at a pre-determined time to discuss certain topics. Each Twitter chat uses its own particular hashtags (#). A moderator or a group of hosts with pose some questions during a 1 hour session and encourage interaction from participants within the community. Imagine a business network event but on social media.

It’s important to note that Twitter chats are not an opportunity to sell. It’s only an opportunity to share your voice and opinion about a given subject. There are so many different Twitter chats. Only last week, I joined over 5 different ones that were talking about a variety of subjects. You can learn so much from them.

If you are not on Twitter, then you can find one of my latest blog posts that shows you a step by step guide of how to create an awesome looking Twitter profile.

Why should you join a Twitter Chat in your industry?

Twitter chats provide you with an opportunity to share your knowledge and thoughts to a network and improve your personal brand. It is so important. One of the many reasons why I started my personal brand is because of my competitive nature. Let me give you an example.

If you pick 4 different CVs for the same role within market research, and you take their name off the CV. What would you find unique or different?

Not a lot. Because they all have similar degrees, education, background. But most importantly, they all work in a similar way to everyone else in the industry.

So it was time to change all that, which is why now, I give away my thoughts and opinions about how to create a personal brand.

Why do we need a Twitter chat in market research?

As I have mentioned. Twitter chats provide you with an opportunity to share your knowledge and thoughts to a network and improve your personal brand.

With so much going on within the industry of market research, it’s really important we share our ideas as much as possible. Which is why a Twitter chat for market research Is going to be awesome.
